Description The Heritage Experience Curator serves as a key ambassador of The Driskill's legacy, bringing the hotel's rich history, Western heritage, and Austin cultural significance to life. grounded in an authentic understanding of its ranching roots and the legacy of its founder Jesse Driskill. Reporting to the Director of Brand Strategy, this role operates at the intersection of storytelling, guest engagement, and brand activation.
This position plays a critical role in translating The Driskill's history and identity into memorable, emotionally resonant experiences that deepen guest connection and elevate the brand. Working closely alongside the Director of Brand Strategy, the role supports the development and execution of programming that reflects both the hotel's legacy and its place within Austin's evolving cultural landscape.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience, Tours & Programming § Lead daily hotel history tours, delivering engaging, accurate, and dynamic storytelling experiences.
§ Design and execute signature guest experiences, including activations such as Bolo's & Bourbon, ensuring a polished, memorable, and brand-aligned delivery.
§ Serve as a highly visible, guest-facing ambassador of The Driskill throughout the property, enhancing The Driskill's guest perception as a culturally rich, experience driven destination.
§ Adapt storytelling and hosting style to a wide range of audiences, creating personalized and elevated experiences.
§ Maintain deep knowledge of The Driskill's history, architecture, notable figures, and cultural relevance.
Brand Activation & Collaboration § Partner closely with the Director of Brand Strategy to bring brand initiatives and storytelling moments to life.
§ Support special events, activations, and experiential programming that reinforce The Driskill's identity.
§ Contribute creative ideas to continuously evolve tour content and guest-facing experiences.
§ Willingness and ability to travel as needed to represent The Driskill in other markets.
Community & Cultural Connection § Integrate elements of Texas, ranching heritage, and Western culture into storytelling and programming.
§ Act as a cultural connector, helping guests understand The Driskill's role within Austin's history and community.
Qualifications Qualifications § Charismatic, engaging personality with strong storytelling and hosting instincts.
§ A minimum of two years prior experience as a tour guide required.
§ Background in ranching or agriculture required including firsthand familiarity with ranching practices, terminology, traditions and values.
§ Highly polished verbal and written communication skills.
§ Comfortable and confident presenting to both small-group and in large event settings.
§ Experience leading or facilitating small-group events or guest experiences.
§ Demonstrates a passion for hospitality, history, and creating meaningful guest moments.
Position Details § Part-time role
§ Five days per week with short shifts
§ Flexible scheduling required, including weekends and holidays
