Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 14-week travel assignment in a high-acuity maternal-child health setting. This role focuses on providing comprehensive care for mothers and newborns throughout labor delivery recovery and immediate postpartum stages.

The ideal candidate will have strong maternal-child nursing experience excellent clinical judgment and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide full-spectrum nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns
Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized maternal-child care plans
Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
Perform IV insertion phlebotomy medication administration and patient monitoring
Assist with and monitor conscious sedation procedures
Collaborate with physicians midwives anesthesiologists and care teams
Educate patients and families on labor delivery postpartum and newborn care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Respond to obstetric emergencies and changes in patient condition
Follow hospital safety standards and infection control protocols

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child nursing experience required
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience required
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience required
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required
Active New York State RN License required
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
NRP certification required
Strong assessment critical thinking and emergency response skills
Ability to work in high-acuity Labor & Delivery environments
