job summary:
Our client, a global leader is providing climate control solutions, is seeking a senior-level Packaging Engineer to lead the design and implementation of heavy-duty industrial packaging solutions for HVAC components. The Packaging Engineer's primary mission is to eliminate freight damage by engineering custom crating, skids, and restraint systems that can withstand the rigors of LTL and multi-touch transportation networks.

responsibilities:

• Create custom crating, skids, and internal restraint systems specifically built for oversized, heavy, or fragile products

• Act as the lead authority on solving freight damage by performing root cause analysis on field failures and translating them into engineered corrective actions

• Define precise packaging load paths, forklift entry requirements, and bracing strategies to survive LTL (less-than-truckload) and multi-touch transportation environments

• Lead pilot builds and field validations to ensure designs are repeatable and scalable, supporting a phased rollout across domestic and Mexico-based manufacturing locations

• Collaborate with internal teams and external resources to ensure packaging design are suitable for internal execution and meet material specifications
